On the eve of our departure to Maastricht in 2020, a rapidly-evolving pandemic put the world on guard and, concerned for our staff and colleagues, we felt it prudent to withdraw from participation.
Therefore, we are delighted to return this year to TEFAF Maastricht as an exhibitor, for the first time since 2008. To mark the occasion, we are exhibiting a collection of paintings and drawings, spanning nearly 500 years, that represents the sheer scope of Wildenstein & Co. Inc.
We will be showing a beautiful group of Old Masters, such as a magnificent and little-seen painting by Fragonard, St. Peter Prostrated, considered to be one of the artist’s most convincing religious works; an exceptional Holy Family by Baroque artist Guido Reni; and an important landscape by Claude Lorrain, formerly in the collection of the Duke of Westminster.
In the 19th-20th century section, highlights include a beautiful landscape from Monet’s Zaandam period; an important pastel of dancers by Degas; an intimate interior by Bonnard; a striking painting by Van Dongen depicting an elegant amazon; and a very rare watercolor by Dali, not seen in public until now.
We are looking forward to seeing old friends and welcoming new faces, and are eager to admire the installations of our peers.
